A Certified Nurse-Midwife's scope of practice encompasses care for the woman throughout her lifespan.

• Well woman exam

• Screening for breast cancer, HPV testing and cervical cancer screening

• Screening and treatment of sexually transmitted infections (STIs), vaginal infections and vulvar disorders

• Family planning options, including alternative and Western modalities such as Wild yam, long term reversible methods (IUD) and subdermal implants

• Menopause treatment which may include lifestyle changes, dietary changes and hormone replacement therapies

• Infertility consultation including initial workup, evaluation and management or Referral to infertility specialists when needed
